Columbus Car Rental Requirements & Policies

Minimum Age – 21+ to Rent: Buckeye welcomes drivers 21 and up — no steep young driver fees here. Rent confidently in Columbus with standard insurance and a refundable deposit. Drivers 25+ enjoy the same smooth process.
Valid Driver’s License: A valid U.S. license is required for all drivers. International renters must show a passport and international driving permit if their license isn't in English.
Proof of Insurance: Full coverage auto insurance that transfers to the rental is required. You’ll provide proof at booking or pickup. No personal coverage? On-demand rental insurance may be available.
$500 Security Deposit: A refundable $500 deposit is required per rental. It's released within 1–2 business days after return, assuming no damages.

Accepted Payment Methods: We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx) via secure Stripe processing. Need flexibility? Buy Now, Pay Later options like Klarna and Afterpay are also supported. Rentals must be paid in full or approved before pickup.
Booking Confirmation: Reservations are confirmed once your license, insurance, and deposit are verified. You’ll receive an official email or text once approved. For faster booking, upload documents during checkout.
Cancellation Policy: Cancel free up to 48 hours before your pickup time. Within 48 hours, a late cancellation fee (typically one day’s rental) may apply. No-shows may forfeit the deposit. To modify or cancel, contact us 24/7 by call or text.

Mileage Limits: Each rental includes a generous daily or weekly mileage allowance, clearly stated at booking. Need more miles? Additional mileage can be added at a low per-mile rate. We’ll notify you if you near your limit.
No Smoking Policy: Smoking or vaping in any vehicle is strictly prohibited. Violations will incur a cleaning fee to ensure a clean, fresh interior for all renters.
Authorized Drivers Only: Only approved drivers listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. Additional drivers (21+ with valid license and insurance) can be added during booking or by request. Unauthorized drivers are not insured and breach the rental terms.
